What is a Highlights Video?
These are the exciting wedding videos of your day! I try to focus on the day as a whole, to elicit the feeling of being there whilst cozying up on the couch with your favourite bottle of bubbly. All my videos are shot and edited with love, they're easily shareable and utterly watchable.
How much coverage do I really need?
Couples love to see the preparations, it's the one part of the day when you're not together. The moments leading up to the wedding are some of the most emotionally filled parts of the day and being able to see your other half's prep-time is so precious. I would say 9 hours is more than enough time to capture the prep all the way up to the evening dancing, but of course it totally depends on your timings.
What is a Linear Film?
This regards the ceremony and speeches. It's an edited video featuring multiple angles of a single live event from start to finish. So the video will be the same length as the ceremony or speeches were! It's a more traditional style of video where you get to see everything in full.
What is the longer edit?
This is a 10-20 minute film, in chronilogical order of your day. It's similar to the highlights video but it focuses more on the interactions between you and your guests, with full sound where available, more like a fly-on-the-wall documentary!
What is your style?
There’s something very real about handheld camera work, a lot of film directors use this technique when they want to create a connection with the characters. You feel very close to them, it’s a familiarity that can conjure the feeling of actually being there. I use a lot of handheld for this reason, but I love using my gimbal for those gorgeous sweeping cinematic shots.
Memories can be hard to recall, you think you remember something perfectly but maybe your partner remembers it differently and suddenly you’re not so sure. My aim for a wedding video is to tell an emotional story you’ll want to relive. It’s important to me to tell it properly and after everything has settled, you’ll be thankful your video tells the story how you remember it.
Can I add on services later?
Absolutely. I always shoot with a view of having all the footage, so even after the wedding, should you wish to have an extended cut or full speeches, you can always let me know later. I also have a full range of extras to add on to your package, let me know in a message if you'd like to discuss this!
What are your waiting times?
Generally, I allow 8-12 weeks to produce your films, however, this does depend on different circumstances mostly relating to the time of year. As you can probably guess, Summer is the busiest time! So, and I'm sure you'd agree, I'd much rather spend a little bit extra time on your video to make sure it's the best it can possibly be, rather than rush to meet a deadline. The industry average is 6 months, which I am well under.
